The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-west Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has been described as a selfless leader and politician who judiciously utilised the resources within his purview for the benefits of his people.
Making the commendation was the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters, Hon. Demola Ojo at the Official Commissioning of Renovated NSCDC office, repaired boreholes and distribution of Motorcycles to security operatives in commemoration of 100 days in office of the Executive Chairman.
The Honourable Commissioner commended the Executive Chairman for his prudence and determination in ensuring that dividends of democracy were felt in all the nooks and crannies of the local government. He said, ‘inspite of paucity of funds in the local government, the Chairman was able to embark on physical projects like renovation of security office, distribution of motorcycles , repair of blocked borehole among others. His commitment to self help projects must be emulated”
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Alh AbdulRahman Adepoju reiterated that all physical projects embarked on since his assumption of office was in fulfilment of the campaign promises he made to the people of the local government.
He maintained that the renovation of the dilapidated NSCDC office at Ekotedo was in fulfilment of his promise to provide a conducive working environment for the security operatives within the Council area. The repaired borehole at Anwo compound at Agbaje area was to eradicate the hardship faced by the residents in accessing clean potable water. He stressed that his administration is determined to ensure the safety of lives and properties of his people hence the distribution of motorcycles to security operatives to enable them patrol larger areas efficiently and serve as visible deterrent to would be criminals.
Alh Adepoju appreciated His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Makinde for his remarkable achievements in the Omituntun 2.0 among which were construction and rehabilitation of roads, purchase of cars for security operatives, regular payments of workers salaries, light up program across major roads in Ibadan and Oyo state in general among others. The Council Boss assured that all infrastructural projects to be executed during his tenure in office will be in tandem with the visions of His Excellency in OMITUNTUN 2.0 for the people of Oyo State.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration for the Council, Mrs Rachael Olabode appreciated all Dignitaries present at the occasion and enjoined all the beneficiaries of the projects to utilize them judiciously and co-operate with the present administration as this will assist in providing more social amenities within the council area and the state in general.
In their separate goodwill messages, the SA to Governor on Security matters, PDP Stakeholders , representatives of security operatives and Baale Ekotedo eulogised the Executive Chairman for his initiatives especially in the area of security with a charge that he should not relent in embarking more on people oriented projects for the betterment of the populace.
They promised their unflinching supports for the Governor and the Chairman for the growth of the Council and the state as a whole.
The ceremony which was held at NSCDC office Ekotedo had in attendance the Hon Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters, Hon Ademola Ojo, Vice Chairman; Alh Ganiy Abiodun Omotosho, State PDP Secretary; Alh Wasiu Adeleke, PA to his Excellency; Alh Akeem Azeez, SA to Governor on Security Matters Compol Fatai Owoseni and Oyo State ALGON Chairman; Hon Sikiru Sanda.
